KEF Programs Count on You
The Kensington Education Foundation (KEF) funds hands-on enrichment programs important to the growth, development, and education of Kensington Hilltop Elementary children. KEF is run by parent volunteers, with no paid administrative staff. These programs are 100% parent-funded and complement the formal classroom curriculum funded by our school district. That means we need your support to ensure all kids at Hilltop continue to have access to a well-rounded education.
Our collective contributions benefit our kids’ education by funding:
-
Salaries for 10 enrichment teachers and aides.
-
Art classes to inspire students’ creativity.
-
STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) classes and Science to spark students’ curiosity.
-
Music & Rhythm classes to spark a love of music and dance.
-
Library classes to foster a love of reading.
-
Physical Education classes, Playworks and increased recess support, and Running Club to help kids stay active and build valuable life skills through play.
-
Academic support in Reading & Math for students who may need extra attention to achieve grade-level success.
-
Much-needed math curriculum for ALL classrooms. KEF is pleased to support the school's request for this district-approved but not funded supplemental math curriculum (Eureka Math). The first time Hilltop will have a standard math curriculum!
A Critical Need
Did you know these programs are not funded by the school district? The Fall Pledge campaign helps us narrow the shortfall between state and local funding and the true cost of a Kensington education. To keep these wonderful classes going, we need your support!
A Goal to Support All
We aim for 100% participation and appreciate your contribution at whatever level is right for your family. For this school year, our goal is to raise $875 per student to cover the cost of KEF programming. If you’re able to contribute more than $875 – even just by rounding up your donation to $1000 – you will help defray the cost of programming for families who are not able to contribute at this level. Every pledge, no matter the size, makes a meaningful impact on the lives of our students.
