Kensington Education Foundation (KEF)
The Kensington Education Foundation was founded over 30 years ago to fill in the gaps left by state-wide budget cuts to public education. Since then, the all-volunteer board has worked to carry out the organizational mission and adapt to changes in the educational environment over time, identifying areas where new or additional support may be needed and fundraising to meet those needs.
Our mission
By raising funds from the Kensington Hilltop community, the Kensington Education Foundation (KEF) provides hands-on learning experiences for Hilltop students that complement the standards-based classroom learning funded by our school district.

Enrichment:
The Kensington Education Foundation raises funds from the parent community to provide enrichment programs designed to create hands-on learning experiences for the students of Kensington Hilltop Elementary (KHS). Classes take place during the school day and include:
-
Art
-
Science Lab
-
STEAM (K-3)
-
Library
-
PE
-
Performing Arts (Grades 4-6, Fall only)
-
Music & Rhythm (TK-3)
-
Playworks (recess support)
-
Running Club
-
Math Olympiad

We believe these classes complement the district’s educational curricula and support KHS students with a well-rounded selection of programs geared to encourage excitement for learning and cultivate interest across various areas.
Academic Support
In addition to the enrichment programs KEF provides, we aim to provide district teachers with extra support in math and reading for students during the school day. KEF provides qualified staff to work closely with students who may benefit from these programs to ensure they receive the attention and support they need to thrive and achieve grade-level skills in school.
